Objective:
Develop skateboard decks, wheels and packaging for OJ Wheels, Bullet, Skateboarding Is Not A Crime, and Ricta Wheel Dynamics; All of which are companies under the NHS Manufacturing Company. Many of the wheels also used special formulas that were developed for different riding environments and unique to the riders style. For designing the packaging I had to create a system that would accommodate the different families of wheels along with different sizing.
Solution:
I hand illustrated a designs and custom typefaces and created youthful concepts for some designs such as the Crime skateboard decks and wheels considering that these were to be sold at Target Stores nationwide. For others such as Ricta the concept was to highlight a clean aesthetic and incorporate the technological side of Ricta, which it is known for. Custom logos and logotypes were created for each set. The packaging system was intended to accommodate several different wheel families and sizing while establishing a recognizable pattern along the brand.
